Description
GHK-Cu — Copper Tripeptide Complex
GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) is a naturally occurring tripeptide that forms a stable complex with copper(II) ions. It is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only.
Research context
Preclinical literature has examined copper-peptide complexes of this structural class in cultured fibroblast models, with assays measuring collagen type I and III gene expression, matrix metalloproteinase regulation, and copper-dependent enzyme activation. Gene-expression screening in cultured cell lines has also been used to characterise downstream transcriptional responses to copper-tripeptide exposure. Comparative binding studies with related tripeptide-copper complexes have further examined the stoichiometry and stability of the coordination complex under cell-culture conditions.
