Description
LL-37 — Human Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Peptide
LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin-derived antimicrobial peptide (AMP) identified to date. It is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only.
Research context
Preclinical literature has examined LL-37 in cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide assays against bacterial, fungal and viral membrane preparations, including minimum-inhibitory-concentration (MIC) assay formats. Innate immune cell chemotaxis assays and lipopolysaccharide-binding studies have also used this peptide to characterise its role in pattern-recognition and leukocyte recruitment pathways in vitro. Structure-activity studies using truncated and substituted LL-37 analogues have further characterised the peptide domains responsible for membrane interaction within these assay systems.
