Research context

Preclinical literature has examined B7-33’s activation of the RXFP1 receptor and its engagement of the pERK1/2 signaling cascade independent of cAMP-pathway activation. Investigators have studied its effect on matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) upregulation and myofibroblast differentiation in extracellular-matrix signaling assay models. Model systems include cardiac and vascular cell cultures used to examine collagen-degradation pathways and vasodilatory receptor signaling.
