Description
PEG-MGF — Pegylated IGF-1 Splice-Variant Peptide
PEG-MGF is a pegylated form of Mechano-Growth Factor (MGF), a splice variant of the IGF-1 gene, in which a polyethylene-glycol chain is conjugated to the peptide to extend plasma residence time. It is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only.
Research context
Preclinical literature has examined PEG-MGF in IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) binding assays and in satellite-cell and myoblast cell culture models investigating fusion and proliferation signalling. Comparative studies have characterised its pharmacokinetic stability relative to non-pegylated MGF in vitro.
