Description
SNAP-8 — Octapeptide-8, SNARE Complex Inhibitor
SNAP-8 (Octapeptide-8) is a synthetic octapeptide, structurally related to Argireline, that competitively interferes with SNAP-25 within the SNARE complex. It is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only.
Research context
Preclinical literature has examined this compound in synaptosome and neuromuscular junction cell models, using assays that measure SNARE complex assembly and SNAP-25-mediated vesicle fusion. Comparative in vitro studies have examined its competitive inhibition profile against related hexapeptide analogues within the same mechanistic class. Mass-spectrometry and chromatographic methods have been used in parallel to confirm peptide integrity across these in vitro assay conditions.
